From its beginning in 1989, the Alliance Francaise French Film Festival has been one of the greatest cultural events in Australia.

The festival offers something for all ages including culture, dancing, sport, film, food and of course the best music this side of the equator.

This year has seen a few hits and misses at the movies but The Green Lantern held my attention from the moment the film began to the end.  When I left the theatre I really felt  I had enjoyed a couple of hours of super hero magic entertainment.

Michael Winterbottom's latest release is a feature-length version of the BBC2 comedy series The Trip. Steve Coogan (who has played minor roles in Tropic Thunder and the Night at the Museum) and Rob Brydon, play fictionalised versions of themselves as they take a driving tour reviewing restaurants in the North of England.
